Mark and Kym Kays, owners of the Express Employment Professionals franchise in southeast Kansas, opened their first office in Independence in August, 2004. Their second office was opened the following year in Parsons with future development plans for Chanute and Ft. Scott in their one to three year goals.
Mark, a native of Miami, OK, began his career after attending OSU in Stillwater, OK and majoring in Animal Science as a business owner in Miami. Mark owned and operated 2 businesses for 16 years before joining the Express Employment Professionals team as the local sales representative. After three years, he and his wife, decided to purchase their own franchise territory in the southeast part of Kansas. Mark is active in local community organizations, including serving as a Chamber Ambassador and a board member of the Independence Country Club.
Mark's wife, Kym, holds a B.S. degree in Mathematics from Pittsburg State University and has devoted all but two years where she spent teaching high school math, in the field of sales and marketing. Kym joined her husband as the company's sales rep in 2005 and has become heavily involved in area community and civil organization. Currently, Kym is the Vice-President of the local Society of Human Resource Managers, a board member of Montgomery County Action Council and an Independence Housing board member. Mark and Kym along with their children, Marcus and Hannah, are active member of Tyro Christian Church.
Both Mark and Kym decided that owning their own Express franchise would be a great way to fulfill a lifetime commitment to their personal mission, which is to help others have the opportunity succeed. Their business is truly their ministry where they hope to touch as many lives as possible in southeast Kansas to help businesses find the top talent and as many individuals seeking employment the help they need to make a better life for themselves and their families.
Stacy Boyer serves as the senior staffing consultant for the Independence, KS office. In this position, Stacy will assist associates in the job application process and help clients with their staffing needs. She started with Express in 2004, when the Independence, Express office opened. She has over 20 years of management experience, and Stacy is a member of the Imagination Library Board, and is a Leadership Independence graduate. She received her inside and outside sales certifications from Express University. She decided to become a staffing consultant, with Express Personnel Services so that she could inspire people to excel in their careers, just as her supervisors have inspired her to excel in her career.
Debbie Puryear recently joined the Express Employment Professionals' team as a staffing consultant focusing on light industrial needs. Debbie brings with her over 20 years of experience in the human resources field. She was an Express client before joining the team and was aware of the high quality care Express Personnel Services bring to clients and associates. She is a graduate of Friends University and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management. A life-long resident of Independence, Debbie enjoys being involved in community activities and currently serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Independence Housing Authority Board of Directors.
Kylie Bondi joins us as our Front Office Coordinator. She is the first impression for our guests coming in the door and the friendly voice that greets you on the phone. Currently, Kylie is studying for the Inside Sales certification through Express University. Her background prior to joining Express was in the hospitality industry and has over four years of high end customer service.
